K Small & Son Ltd re-open former Gwinear farmers premises in west Cornwall and open new depot at Cullompton, Devon

Agricultural roofing and building product distributor K Small & Son have reopened the former Gwinear & District Farmers Agricultural Merchants premises in Carnhell Green, Camborne in Cornwall, originally founded over 100 years ago by soldiers returning from the First World War. Now, Ken Small and his team are breathing new life into the premises, investing in warehouse racking and environmentally-friendly electric forklift trucks with zero emissions.

“We’ve had a great response from farmers, builders, contractors and the general public since we opened in January,” owner Ken Small said. “Customers have said that they are pleased they can buy products locally again.”

The company is the area stockist for Harpers Animal Feed, Tornado Wire, Hotline Fencing, timber stakes, alloy ladders, Bateman gates and Onduline™ and corrugated galvanised steel sheets, as well as pet food, workwear and garden equipment. It is also the distributer of Durapost™ colour coated steel fence posts and Composite Prime Cladding and Decking.

As one of the largest stockists and suppliers of roofing sheets throughout the South West, K Small & Son has been trading for over 50 years from its premises at Redruth in Cornwall, and has now expanded into Devon with a new depot at Cullompton.

Between Junctions 27 and 28 of the M5, the premises at Five Bridges stock a wide range of galvanised steel roofing sheets, fixings and accessories, and will also be the LM Bateman & Co’s dealership supplying farm gates and animal handling equipment at Five Bridges once again.

“Our customers like the fact that as stockists, our products are available for immediate collection or quick delivery, rather than having to be ordered for manufacture, which can then take many weeks to arrive,” Ken continued.
